Endometrial Ablation

Heart care

In collaboration with a reputable UK Central London accredited laboratory we are pleased to offer the public a swab PCR test which is approved by the department of health and care quality commission. Currently only the swab test is the definitive test applied by NHS as the antibody (blood test) has not been approved for clinical testing. Several UK and European research centres have not been able to establish the validity of blood antibodies testing, therefore, we do not offer antibody testing at this stage due to lack of specificity and sensitivity.

Endometrial ablation is burning a thin layer of the lining of the uterus and stops periods. Occasionally menstrual bleeding does not stop but is reduced significantly.

Endometrial ablation is used to treat heavy bleeding but usually, medications are used as a first line. Failure of that will require endometrial ablation.

It should not be done after the menopause and other condition such as cancer of the uterus, infection problems with the endometrium or following pregnancy whether miscarriage or delivery.

This is unlikely but it can happen. If this occurs miscarriage can be a consequence.

It takes a few minutes to do and is quite easy either by Novasure endometrial ablation or by laser treatment.

Side effects are uncommon, however, it is possible to experience cramping for a few days with some excessive discharge which should then subside.

These are rare but there is a small risk of bleeding, infection, uterine perforation, bowel injury and fluid imbalance.
